We contacted A-1 Roofing through Angie's List. We dealt with a young man named John who came over for the estimate exactly when he said he would. John was very friendly and totally honest and gave us a very resonable and compatible estimate. John came on time like he said (7:15 a.m.) with a full crew and equippment and was done by 11:30 a.m. The crew was very professional and when done they totally cleaned up. It was like they were never even here. I would highly recommend A-1 to all. They deserve an A+ across the board.

I can't say enough good things about A1 Roofing and Siding, I had my old roof taken off and some sheathing and rafters replaced. A new roof put on and gutters and leaders installed all by 4pm, these guys are super. The grounds were spotless after they were done. They could not have been nicer and the price was more than fair. I may have the siding done in the future and I will be sure to call them again. I dealt with John very nice person, they arrived at 7am got set up and they were like a roofing machine,

We had a leaky ceiling in one of the upstairs bedrooms and knew it had to be coming from the roof. We did our due diligence and called a bunch of roofers to check out what the problem could be and went with A-1 as the owner John was friendly, explained the problem in detail and cost was fair. We also had a hole in our window siding left from when we relocated the post of our fence. I had John check it out and said he would be able to repair it as well for reasonable price. I scheduled the appointment on Wednesday, John came in to take a look on Friday and gave me the estimate. A few hours later I called to schedule the repair and his receptionist said John would call back shortly. Saturday morning, John called saying he can send someone to do the repairs that afternoon and no one needed to be there if we weren't available. That afternoon one of John's workers came around, and fixed the window siding in 45 minutes and the roof in 45 minutes. It rained alittle the other day and no leak coming from the ceiling. So far, so good. Waiting for another heavy storm to come around to make sure all is good with the roof, but all in all service was quick, easy and painless. I would recommend A-1 to anyone.

I needed my gutters cleaned and gutter screens installed. This company was great; called me back in a timely manner and did the job quickly, neatly and efficiently. I'm always afraid with small jobs that I'll have a hard time getting a good professional to do it so I was pleasantly surprised. The price was also very reasonable. My husband thought it would cost about $600 and it only cost $400. Great company!

It went great. I found this company to be the most responsive and knowledgeable, and they came out quickly to do an estimate (even in the middle of tons of snow!) The job was scheduled around us, and we were very happy with this company. We definitely plan on using them again in the future.

A-1 removed two layers of old shingles. Removed and installed 14 sections of 4' x 8' plywood roof decking. Installed new copper chimney flashing and vent pipe flashing and collars. Installed 2 ft. wide ice and snow shield around entire roof perimeter and chimney. Installed 1600 square feet of textured shingles. Installed ridge vent on three roof section peaks. Removed all debris and thoroughly cleaned up the premises.

When I made the appointment for the initial estimate, I asked for a 'time window' so that I wouldn't have to wait around all day. I was told someone would be at my house between 10 A.M. and 12 noon on 3/16/12. John ran my bell at 10:02 on the appointed day. I think my watch must have been two minutes fast (LOL).

John inspected the roof, gave me an estimate, and told me everything that they would do and what any additional costs may be for required repair work. My wife wasn't at home to decide on what color shinges she wanted, so John left a brochure with 15 small samples of the shingles for her to examine. Three days later I called A1 and told them of our color choice. They said they would get back to me to work out an installation date. Several days later they called back and we settled on 3/28 for the job to be accomplished.

At 7:12 A.M. on 3/28 the A1 crew (of eight men) arrived and started the job. At 12:09 P.M. they drove their last truck off my property. It took them a total of 4 hours and 57 minutes to complete the job. If they were any faster, they would have finished before they arrived - which would have qualified them for an appearance on the TV program 'Through the Wormhole" (another LOL).

I never bothered getting any additional estimates for the roofing job because of the excellent reports A1 Roofing and Siding has received on Angie's List, so I cannot comment on the cost. All I know and care about is that I got a quality job with outstanding service, and I'm very confident that they will stand behind their work 100 percent.

One last remark regarding the cleanup. They cleaned up my property better than the landscapers do. I'm very satisfied.

I had a severe leak in a flat roof and in the siding surrounding the flat roof. The crew came and replaced the flat roof and some of the cedar siding. They were fast and efficient and cleaned everything up. The entire job took 3 hours. Excellent - from estimate to completion was less than one week.

Started when they said, even earlier knowing how important the work needed to be done before another rain storm came. Pride and professionalism are qualities that too few business's offer effortlessly, with sincerity and pride. From our first contact with John the current owner of this 30 year plus family owned company, who arrived when promised, inspected our roof, atop the roof where others simply made a lap around the house, we were pleased. He explained his assessment, took nothing for granted, did not try to incorporate additional costs as options, on his own. He gave us the opportunity to vent concerns, ask questions and discuss replacement of 2 skylights, with vented units and installation of an attic exhaust fan. His pricing was competitive, his knowledge impressive, and courtesy compared to all others superior. We liked the idea of a family owned and operated business that was local with a long history as pluses. Once we made the decision to go with A-1, our date was set, with the understanding the date would be honored unless weather conditions till that date were impractical.

On the day arranged his crew featuring the next generation, his sons, John and Vin, and crew arrived, on time, courtesy again ruled the day. They explained what was to be done, where we should place our vehicles to allow them to do as efficient job as they could. Updates were given regarding their progress and their findings once the old roof had been stripped away. I had suspected by sags, I noted, we would need plywood replacement in areas. John stated that you really can't tell till the old roof is off. Well I caught the crew discussing the overall roof base and while surprised to hear that 33 sheets would, in total need replacement. Their goal was in making a solid repair that would stand the test of time. Materials used top grade, Cleanup was thorough and cost was exactly as promised under the terms of our contract. We have other services in mind over the next few years and will John and family, (A-1) will be our first call for estimates. With a family owned company I expect after 30 years they will be here when and if needed.
